My kids love these, but I really didn’t need second copies!!!
Both my nine year old daughter and my seven year old daughter love this DVD. The only complaint I have about it is that I had no idea how to play both movies until my older daughter turned the DVD upside down and inserted it into the player and then the other movie worked! I don’t think I would ever have figured that one out.

The Crow set the standard for dark and violent comic-book movies (like Spawn or director Alex Proyas’s superior follow-up, Dark City), but it will forever be remembered as the film during which star Brandon Lee (son of martial arts legend Bruce Lee) was accidentally killed on the set by a loaded gun. The filmmakers were able to digitally sample what they’d captured of Lee’s performance and piece together enough footage to make the movie releasable. Indeed, it is probably more fascinating for that post-production story than for the tale on the screen. The Crow is appropriately cloaked in ominous expressionistic shadows, oozing urban dread and occult menace from every dank concrete crack, but it really adds up to a simple and perfunctory tale of ritual revenge. Guided by a portentous crow (standing in for Poe’s raven), Lee plays a deceased rock musician who returns from the grave to systematically torture and kill the outlandishly violent gang of hoodlums who murdered him and his fiancee the year before. The film is worth watching for its compelling visuals and genuinely nightmarish, otherworldly ambience. Unfortunately, the digital video disc includes no extras about the production. –Jim Emerson

We have only been waiting a few years, so it is about time for this third season to approach out. I hope that splendid sales will help a decision to release the rest, soon. This is one of the best series ever to grace our screens, so I can’t wait to receive this third (and one of the best) season in 2009. A reminder of the episodes we can seek information from to see: Fran meets her penpal Lenny at the Russian Tea Room, Fran and Val throw a singles party at the Sheffield location, Maggie’s sweet 16 party at Lainie Kazan’s bar, a visit by mum Mrs Sheffield, a visit to the Kibbutz (and a 16 year veteran Fran), both of Fran’s Grandmas, a fraudulent marriage proposal to Fran from a Frenchie and also a memorable guest appearance by Eartha Kidd – I can’t wait… and thank you Sony for finally giving in and releasing this third season. Please don’t end now!!!
Many encores and friendly accolades to Sony for their decision to release Season 3 of the Nanny! After checking with the Amazon region almost every week since the Summer of 2008 and waiting so patiently, it was a broad, surreal surprise to peruse the prompt for the pre-order of this item! This series is truly one worth purchasing.It is an item that has been worth waiting for and especially for the faithful Nanny followers who have been hoping for this seasons and the others to be released on DVD! With the release of Season 3, there is a revitalized hope that the other seasons will soon materialize and appear for lift. Being able to add Season 3 along with Seasons 1 and 2 has created a unique excitement. I have really enjoyed watching these episodes and having loads of laughs while I literally “kick-up-my-heels” and relax. With the release of Season 3, having access to the complete collection doesn’t watch so bleak!

A truly impressive French film destined to become a modern masterpiece, Jean de Florette is an evocative adaptation of the highly regarded French novel. Two 1920s farmers engage in a bitter rivalry as one tries to tend to a plot of land and the other deviously undermines his efforts in order to conceal a valuable spring. The peasant farmer (Gerard Depardieu) who comes to the countryside to tend the land he has inherited is a naive and trusting soul seeking only to provide for his wife and daughter, while his neighbor (Yves Montand) is intent on doing whatever he can to discourage and demoralize the farmer so that he can take the land for himself. This simple tale unfolds in a wrenching fashion to a tragic conclusion, bringing forth qustions about human nature and the prevalence and price of greed. Along with its follow-up, Manon of the Spring, this film will leave an indelible impression on anyone who sees it. –Robert Lane

What were you thinking? I’ll admit the 1998 remake was tantalizing, the design “Wings” is at one o’clock in the morning when nothing else is on, but, like “The Nutty Professor” Murphy’s kid-friendly remake looks like a crime against cinema when placed next to its source material. First off, this is a musical with a gorgeous gain by Leslie Bricusse (who wrote the songs for “Willy Wonka” and “Discontinuance the World, I Want To Secure Off” with longtime partner Anthony Newley, who stars in this film) . Also, Rex Harrison WORKED to learn to talk to animals. It wasn’t a magical power he was born with, the man studied! He doesn’t need cheesy (if well-cast) celebrity voiceovers and computer-generated mouth-movement to convince us, either. So if you want your kids to determine for second best and, as a result, meander you to mediocre kiddy-fair after mediocre kiddy-fair (which, in the age of “The Cat in the Hat” is glorious abominable) let ‘em have Eddie Murphy. But if you want your kids to have taste and devour a quality part of filmmaking, rent this film immediately. Even if you have no kids, take it, rent it, whatever.
If you haven’t seen the underrated new DR. DOLITLE in widescreen stereo as you will be able to on DVD, you haven’t seen it! The photography is outstanding (shot in TODD-AO 70MM) and the orchestrations and songs sound vast! The Laser Disc was the only plot to experience this oustanding family musical…until now. Sadly, though, two of the films best songs, “Where Are The Words” and the blooming “Something In Your Smile” were carve from the film upright before its release and are not restored here as hoped; be obvious to check them out on the soundtrack, available on CD (you can hear the melodies play in the overture, opening credits, and exit music) . Aloof, this is a spacious looking, tall sounding musical for everyone! Many muusicals of the behind Sixties were unfairly compared (or indeed did try to emulate) “The Sound of Music” and “Mary Poppins” As time has gone on, they can be finally apprecaited as the outstanding entertainments some of them are, like DOCTOR DOLITTLE.
